POTTERY CLUB at University Park

This is what we are doing in our fall classes

In Pottery Club we’ll use real clay & glazes to make clay creations. We’ll learn about making coil pots, pinch pots and working with clay slabs to create pottery that we glaze in lots of bright colors. In our last class we'll use paint in a rainbow of colors to finish pre-made pottery that can go home on the day that we paint it. (K-5)

5. Pumpkin covered jars We’ll put faces on pumpkins for Halloween.
4. Dolphin We’ll make dolphins with fins, tails and noses.
6. Glaze Our Pottery! We will glaze the pottery that we’ve made with shiny, bright colors. Adventures in Art will fire the pottery and bring it back to school the following week so students can take their finished work home.
7 & 8. Dragon In our seventh class we will make a dragon with lots of fun features. In our last class we will finish our dragon with paints in a rainbow of colors, sparkles and glitter. Our dragons can go home on the day that we paint them.

1.Animal Pinch Pots We’ll turn pinch pots into animal portraits.

Check back in August to learn all the information for the fall 2018 workshop.

We’ll use real clay & glazes to make clay creations. We’ll learn about making pitch pots, coil pots, working with clay slabs and more to create pottery that we glaze in lots of bright colors. Adventures in Art will fire the pottery in a kiln and bring it back to school so students can take their finished work home. In our last class we'll use paint in a rainbow of colors to finish pre-made pottery.  (grades K-5)

Class dates: Sept 10, 17, 24; Oct 1, 8, 15, 29; Nov 5,12 (no class 9/3, 10/22)

2. Self Portrait We’ll make self portraits on clay tiles.

3. Paint Our Pottery We’ll finish our snowmen and plates with paints in a rainbow of colors, sparkles and glitter. Our pottery can go home on the day we paint it.

1.Snowman Our snowmen will have hats, scarves and more.
2. Holiday plate We’ll turn clay slabs into holiday plates that we decorate with cookie cutter shapes and lots of bright colors.
4. Penguins We’ll turn pinch pots into penguins with webbed feet and bright beaks.
5. Octopus We’ll make an octopus in the ocean.
7 & 8. Monsters In our seventh class we’ll make monsters with lots of fun features. In our last class we will finish our monsters with paint in a rainbow of colors, sparkles and glitter. Our monsters can go home on the day that we paint them.
