In Pottery Club we’ll use real clay & glazes to make clay creations. We’ll learn about making coil pots, pinch pots and working with clay slabs to create pottery that we glaze in lots of bright colors. We’ll make snowmen, holiday plates, elephants, whales and more. In our last class we'll use paint in a rainbow of colors to finish owls that go home on the day that we paint them. (K-5)

Class day & time: Mondays • 7:45am - 8:50am

Class dates: 11/27, 12/4, 12/11, 12/18, 1/8, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5

3. Glaze our pottery! We will glaze the pottery that we’ve made with shinny, bright colors. Adventures in Art will fire the pottery and bring it back to school the following week so students can take their finished work home.
7. Glaze our pottery! We will glaze the pottery that we’ve made with shinny, bright colors. Adventures in Art will fire the pottery and bring it back to school the following week so students can take their finished work home.
1. Holiday Snowman We’ll make snowmen with top hats, scarves, and fun faces.
2. Holiday Plates We’ll use cookie cutters and our imagination to make colorful holiday plates.
4. Ornaments We’ll finish pre-made ornaments with paints in a rainbow of colors, sparkles and glitter. Our ornaments can go home on the day we paint them, with the pottery we glazed the previous week.
5. Elephant We’ll combine pinch pots to make an elephant’s body, then add a head, bigs ears, a trunk, tusks and a tail.
6. Whale We’ll make a whale and put it in the ocean.
8. Painted Pottery We’ll use acrylic paints to finish pre-made pottery (bisque), like this dragon, in a rainbow of colors. This project is for decorative use only and can go home on the day that we paint it.
